- JPEG: stands for (Joint Photographic Experts Group). It’s a standard image format for containing lossy compressed image data.
Despite the huge reduction in file size JPEG images contain reasonable image quality.
- RAW: captures uncompressed data from you camera sensor. Sometimes referred to as a digital negative, you can think of a RAW file as the raw “ingredients” of a photo that will need to be processed in order to bring out the picture’s full potential.
I prefer JPEG over RAW because it is easier to work with and you can take more pictures with it.
